Gettin’ Toasty: Marshmallow Shot Glasses

Featured Food & Drink

If you thought that braving the great outdoors was fun before, wait until you hear about marshmallow shot glasses. That’s right, you’re about to become an incredibly happy camper, Ranger Rick. Gone are the days when overnight wilderness adventures entailed only the rugged elegance of the long-lauded S’mores sandwich.

A new sweet, smokey and boozy sensation is in town.

The Basics of Marshmallow Toasting Badassery

Just in case you live under a rock and have zero toasting experience, let’s review the basics:

  1. Find a stick or bring your own metal skewers.
  2. Chop some wood, start a fire and keep that baby burning for at least an hour before you begin your toasting session. You want heat emitted from the coals, not just the flames that are hungry to light your gooey treat up like a Christmas tree.
  3. Sit an arm’s length from the fire and keep your stick 6-8 inches from the coals. Avoid the flames.
  4. Rotate slowly, like a rotisserie. Fight the immense temptation to rush. Expect a 4-minute approximate timeframe.
  5. Stop when you’ve got a golden, crisp crust on the outside.

The obvious choice here is any lineup of Irish Cream. Bailey’s is a popular choice and comes in Original, Salted Caramel, Espresso Créme, Chocolate Cherry, Vanilla Cinnamon, Pumpkin Spice, Strawberries & Cream and Almande Almondmilk flavors.

If you’re a little more daring, try a Smokin’ Old Fashioned in your smoked marshmallow shot. Whatever you do, have fun, keep your distance from the fire and consume copious amounts of hot, sugary, boozy delight.
